Growing Up Compton

Growing Up Compton (GUC) is an eCommerce and multimedia platform dedicated to empowering the youth of Compton through education, wellness, and community engagement. Our partnership with GUC enhances students’ mental and physical well-being by introducing innovative wellness programs and resources to schools. As part of this collaboration, GUC merchandise, including yoga products from their SoulFlow line and streetwear from their Comptalian line, will be given away as prizes for workshops, activations, and programming. Together, we aim to inspire and support the next generation in Compton, fostering a positive and transformative impact.

Growing Up Compton: Art Contest/Exhibit

The 1st annual GUC: Art Contest/Exhibit, held at Gallery 90220, was a remarkable celebration of creativity and community. In partnership with Grow Unwind Connect, Growing Up Compton invited students to submit painted pieces that visually captured what growing up in Compton means to them. Thirty inspiring artworks were showcased during the one-night exhibit, with the top three winners receiving gifts from Homme + Femme, Growing Up Compton, Mobot, Adidas/Compton Magic, Inspired, Manifest Company, and more. This event highlighted the talent and spirit of our community’s youth while fostering connections through art.

Growing Up Compton: I Want To Travel The World | Video Contest

The 1st annual GUC: I Want To Travel The World video contest was an inspiring and transformative event! In partnership with Grow Unwind Connect, we invited young visionaries to share their dreams of exploring the world through creative and powerful videos. From heartfelt stories to imaginative journeys, the entries showcased the incredible potential and passion of our youth. Winners were selected based on creativity, originality, and the impact of their message, with top entries earning the chance to join our upcoming wellness retreats and global cultural experiences. We’re thrilled to have been able to provide this platform for young voices, and we look forward to continuing our mission of empowering youth to see the world and expand their horizons.

Sadhguru is a yogi, visionary, mystic, and bestselling author, renowned for his profound spiritual insights and practical wisdom. He founded the Isha Foundation in 1992, a nonprofit organization in India dedicated to fostering global well-being through various spiritual, environmental, and educational initiatives. His book, “Youth and Truth,” addresses the pressing questions and concerns of young people, covering a wide array of topics from romance and career to spirituality and artificial intelligence, aiming to provide clarity and perspective. The donation of 100 “Youth and Truth” books will be incorporated into the GUC curriculum, offering students invaluable guidance and deep wisdom to navigate their personal and academic lives effectively.

Hoop Bus

Hoop Bus Inc is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering community engagement through basketball. By partnering with nonprofits, schools, and brands, Hoop Bus increases attendance and awareness at events, spreading love and inclusivity through the sport. Their mission is to inspire children and adults to get outside, play basketball, and break down social barriers, promoting an inclusive and equitable society. Our partnership with Hoop Bus aims to bring their vehicles of change into our communities, enhancing engagement, inspiring youth, and advocating for social inclusion.
